Welcome to Highland Ranch

Dear Highland Ranch Families,

I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere enthusiasm and excitement for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year as your newly appointed principal. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to work with the wonderful Ranch families and dedicated staff. I am already in close contact with Principal Venolia to ensure a smooth transition into the next academic year. With over 20 years of experience in the field of education, I have been fortunate to hold various roles that have shaped school leadership. Currently serving as the assistant principal at Aviara Oaks Middle School, and having previously worked as an administrator at a K-12 school in Vista, Ca, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Highland Ranch.

My most cherished accomplishments in my career were forged in the classroom itself where I had the privilege of teaching students across multiple grade levels. Additionally, I served as an instructional coach for Carlsbad Unified School District and delivered professional development presentations in districts across the United States. Through these experiences, I have come to firmly believe that fostering strong instructional practices and creating a safe, engaging learning environment are the cornerstones of a successful classroom.

As a proud mother to a high school junior and an 8th grader, I fully understand the immense importance of your child's education. Through my roles as a mother, teacher, and leader, I recognize the value of building partnerships with all stakeholders to support the overall well-being of every student. My primary objective for this year is to collaborate closely with the exceptional Highland Ranch educators and staff to ensure that the diverse learning needs of all students are met. To realize this vision, I am committed to providing our students with the necessary tools, ample opportunities, and personalized learning experiences they require to thrive.

I want to assure you that my door will always open to support you and your child. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet each and every one of you and our incredible Stallions in the near future. Together, we will make the 2023-2024 school year truly fantastic!
